Pasadena ISD is committed to the safety and security of all students, staff and visitors. Our Steering Committee for School Safety and Security includes City of Pasadena Emergency Response Officials, Firemen, Policemen, Parents, Principals, Students, Teachers, Consultants, Community Members, Superintendents, and Counselors who are all dedicated to developing safety procedures to ensure all students and staff are trained to respond safely to emergencies.

ALICE is the leading training solution that increases an organization’s and individual’s odds of survival during a violent intruder event. ALICE, which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate, is a post-Columbine, Virginia Tech, Sandy Hook strategy that goes beyond the conventional lockdown. This protocol is an option based strategy relying on situational awareness. Campus staff has been trained to initiate A.L.I.C.E. if an intruder enters the building. Students will be trained by viewing the Students A.L.I.C.E. Training video below followed by teacher-led discussions. More A.L.I.C.E. activities will follow throughout the year.

Pasadena Independent School District is committed to keeping our students safe during their time at school. In a continuous effort to enhance our safety efforts district wide, Pasadena ISD will implement random metal detector screenings at all secondary campuses (grades 7-12) beginning May 2019. The purpose of these screenings is to prevent and deter students from bringing weapons to school.
