New HLSR Rodeo Art Record Set

During spring break, Rayburn art students participated in the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Art Auction held at the NRG Arena. We are super proud to announce that our students sold their artwork for over half a million dollars! YES, you heard correctly,10 of our students sold their artwork for a combined total of $650,000!!!

  • Lot #1 and Grand Champion Hector Maldonado, sold his artwork for a new world record of $240,000!!
  • Lot # 2 and Reserve Grand-Champion Melissa Sosa, sold her artwork for $180,000.
  • Lot #5 and Class-Champion in Color Drawing Joseph Rogers, sold his artwork for $63,000.
  • Lot #6 and Class-Champion in Mixed Medium Anthony Vega, sold his artwork for $55,000. 
  • Lot #12 and Reserve Class-Champion in Color Drawing Marco Sosa, sold his artwork for $38,000.
  • Lot #20 Favian Villanueva sold his artwork for $15,000.
  • Lot #39 Axel Maldonado sold his artwork for $21,000.
  • Lot #44 Ricardo Padron sold his artwork for $9,000.
  • Lot #48 Alexia Blanco sold her artwork for $8,000.
  • And finally, Lot #60 Angela Alfaro sold her artwork for $21,000.
